How To Celebrate Bubble Wrap Day

The last Monday in January is known as Bubble Wrap Day. Bubble Wrap has to be one of the greatest inventions of all time!
I remember as a kid playing at my aunt's house when I first laid eyes on Bubble wrap. She brought a big strip for my cousin and I to pop. We spent at least an hour playing with that.
Bubble Wrap will celebrate 50 years since its inception this year with its terminology created in 1960. The term is a brand of the Sealed Air Corporation in the United States. The company was founded by two engineers and the inventors of Bubble Wrap Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes.

Sealed Air Corporation created a website in celebration of the day that features games, quizzes and all sorts of fun. I especially like the 1001 uses for bubble wrap. Very informative section. Don't worry, there is also a game that involves just popping!

The Bubble Wrap App on the iPhone is without a doubt one of the most addicting apps on the market today. It is exactly as it sounds. Bubbles that need popped that you get points for while doing it. Who doesn't like wasting time on that?

This is the same concept as the above app, but way more addicting. You make words by popping letters. This app even has the option to play online against other word poppers. Be careful with this app, you will lose hours of your day before you know it.
Paint with bubble wrap
If you have kids, this activity will be delightful. Cut out a little square of bubble wrap. Allow your kids to dip it bubble side down into the paint, then make designs on construction paper. This can make a great snow scene using white paint and black construction paper. Also, it can make some really cool art designs using other paint as well. Let your kids be creative-you will be amazed what they come up with.
Family pop party
Buy a roll and let your family have some fun releasing stress at the same time. Turn on the music and dance on top of the bubble wrap. See who can pop the fastest. Stomp, jump and run to pop-you will be surprised how fast the giggles start.
