Books are one of those gifts that refuse to die out. With Christmas break upon many, books make the perfect gift for those who love to read.
Here are the top books to give this holiday season.
Going Rogue: An American Life by Sarah Palin. This is a gift you need to be careful with. Make sure you know the political affiliations of the person you are giving it to. This can either be the best gift or the worse gift. Some have remarked that this book is as honest as it goes. Other do not even understand her point in the book. My suggestion is that this book is one of the most popular right now for Christmas, just be careful you know that the person getting it is actually interested in this life.
Diary of A Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney. This is without a doubt the best series of books to give any boy who loves to read. As an adult, I can honestly say these are some of the funniest books I have ever read. For those who need to know, Dog Days is the most recent release. Last Straw is also one of the later releases and wanted by many. We bought our son the Do-It-Yourself book as well. He loves it. It is full of activities and journal entry that boys and girls enjoy.
Open: An Autobiography by Andre Agassi. This book is a great gift for all those kids of the eighties and nineties who adored Agassi. There are several shocking revelations from drug use to fake hair that any person would find entertaining to learn about their loved tennis star.
Mastering The Art of French Cooking by Julia Child. This is a big time gift this season with the movie, Julia and Julia. You can make this a gift basket with the movie as well. The book is known to be very educational with many people learning to cook French food from this book.
True Compass: A Memoir by Ted Kennedy. The Kennedys in America are our royalty and nothing fascinates people more then learning more about their life. Senator Edward M. Kennedy's memoir is the story of how the youngest most underrated of the nine children born to Joseph P. Kennedy and Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, while fighting through a long and difficult journey found real purpose carrying out the course his brothers had set.
These are just the most popular book gifts this season. Know the person you are buying for, visit a library and ask librarians about certain age groups and suggestions, also check out your local book stores for individual age suggestions.
Merry Christmas and Happy Shopping!
