Will Google and Microsoft Get In Bidding War?

Rupert Murdoch is at it again. Seriously, if this guy is not raking in the dough, does he not sound like the biggest whiny baby?

Murdoch seems to be upset that all the people who come to his media sites does not mean that he is ending up making money. He owns Sun, The Times, The Wall Street Journal, FOX News/movies/channel, MySpace, and many others.

Since the news that Twitter charged Google and Microsoft for indexing rights, Murdoch feels his information needs to be compensated as well.

So enters Microsoft, you know the company that loves to cause problems and try to compete with Google. Microsoft is looking to pay Murdoch to delist from Google.

Can you fathom a world where half of the top 500 media companies are delisted from Google?

This comes down to this for us the users. If Microsoft pulls this off, we will have to either live with the fact that when we search something we are missing out on half of the "news" on the subject. Or we will have to do the search twice. Once on Google then on Microsoft.

Really do we want competition when it comes to search. It bothers me that people portray Google as this big "Man" that needs to be destroyed.

Without Google, would search even exist? Without Google, how many people would be without jobs? Without Google, how much money would be donated each year to worthy charitable causes?

I guess I just do not understand the "I hate Google" mentality. What would internet be without Google? We would still be back ten years ago with no free exchange. Look how much the technology has grown because of Google. Seriously, they deserve to be hated because they have revolutionized the internet? I don't get it.

Murdoch needs to think carefully of the precedent he will set with this. You know if Google was Murdoch and really wanted to sock it to the world, they would charge us just to search. They have given us a resource without asking for anything in return.

Maybe I am just clueless and I am sure if I am, you will have no problem leaving those comments below. I would love to have it explained on how Google is evil and how what Murdoch is considering is right.
