Madonna’s Guy Lost Interest In Sex: Can Your Diet Cause The Same Effect?

The tabloids are running rampant with the latest news from Madonna. Madonna confessed that her husband Guy Ritchie stopped being interested in sex with her because of a diet he was on, Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet. Madonna had remarked during an interview on the Johnjay and Rich radio show on KZZP-FM in Phoenix that her husband, Guy Ritchie, while "on the cookie diet", had lost interest in having sex with her.

The Cookie Diet is a diet in which replacement diet cookies contain a blend of amino acid food proteins that curb appetite without drugs. The diet has been around for a while and recently it has been the latest craze in the celebrity world. The diet consists of 800 calories a day and has been publicized by Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson. Madonna said Ritchie was successful at losing weight on the diet.

Dr. Sanford Siegal was shocked at the statement stating on his blog that "My cookies taste good enough but they're not that good."

He did go on to say that people who are overweight can be more self-conscious in the bedroom. "The fact is that lack of the sex drive is common among patients with excess weight," he said. "It is often the presenting symptom. It generally can be related to psychological reasons connected with a poor self-image and the accompanying lack of confidence. Once the individual starts to lose weight, there seems to be a gradual reversal of that problem."

So did Ritchie prefer the cookies to Madonna? Was he just interested in eating instead of sex? Or are they at that point in their marriage where it is easy to get distracted by other things (yes, even food)?

Why is that as couples grow together their marriage can become stale? I have to admit that there are times when a nice dessert is more distracting than the act of sex with a partner. It doesn't take any work eating. It takes work serving.

I think it is natural when we get comfortable with someone to let ourselves go a little. Madonna should feel honored that Guy was taking steps to be healthier and thinner for her in the first place.

I can imagine that life for him could be a little intimidating for him being married to her and all. Also on that same note, do we really care about their sex life? I guess it is nice to hear that even celebrities don't have movie sex lifes 24/7. It is nice to see that celebrity couples are real couples.

My advice (like they even care about my advice) is that Madonna needs to cut him some slack and let him get to the point where he is confident in himself again. Then the two of them need to add some romance back into their relationship-get rid of the cookies and take a nice vacation. Maybe camp out in nature and get away from the pressures of food and society.
