Just days after longtime friend and teammate Andy Pettitte confirmed the Mitchell Report's testimony of trainer Brian McNamee, Roger Clemens has posted a YouTube video denying all allegations of the Mitchell Report. George Mitchell, a director of the Boston Red Sox and a former Senate majority leader, wrote in his report that former Toronto and New York Yankees strength coach Brian McNamee said he injected Clemens with steroids in 1998 while with the Blue Jays, and in 2000 and 2001 while with the Yankees. McNamee also claimed he injected Clemens with Human Growth Hormone in 2000.

Here is my issue with this. I want to believe that Clemens is telling the truth. I just have always felt something was not right with the man. One Fox Sports Reporter is referring to Clemens as a "bully" and cites examples of times when he bullied others to get his way.
We all remember the altercation between him and New York Mets Catcher Mike Piazza. That instance is one of many that show the temper side of Clemens. There is a mean streak in him that oftentimes comes out on the baseball field. There are those who believe Clemens will view this situation as no different and bully his way out of it.
I think Clemens used and now he is caught. I don't believe his family even knew. I think he took every precaution to protect himself such as not even doing the injections with his own hands.
Clemens has always had talent and I think that is why I want to believe so bad that he didn't use. He is a role model for millions of kids especially in Texas and it is disappointing to find out he used.
For now, though, I think I will try to give him the benefit of the doubt. He is scheduled to do an interview on Jan. 6 with Mike Wallace on 60 Minutes. I am curious to see what comes out in the interview. Will Clemens back track and admit any wrongdoing and apologize or will he continue to deny.
Pettitte chose the route that showed more integrity. M itchell said McNamee, a former personal trainer to Clemens and Yankees and Houston Astros teammate Andy Pettitte, told him Pettitte had used HGH two-to-four times in 2002. Pettitte issued a statement Dec. 15 saying he used HGH twice in 2002.
What will Clemens do next?

Top-level comments on this article: (1 total)I agree with you too. Being a huge Astros fan, Longhorn baseball fan, I have watched Roger grow. He grew a little too much in 2000-2002. I found that odd and could be our proof. Andy Pettite? He is the man!! I have heard his Christian testimony. He truly is a man of God. I breathed a sigh of releif when I heard him speak his truth. Andy also co-wrote a book about being a man of integrity. Thank goodness he is a real man of his word! Several Astros were at this Christian testimony, Brad Lidge, Adam Everett, Jason Lane, another Astro I've forgotten, and my favorite Astro Lance Berkman would have been there but he just had a new baby in his family. He is a devout Christian too. Roger Clemens...he was not there. Good article.
